New Miller Parabolic Quad!!
6-4 Miller Quad
Sharing some new board stoke!! Now I just need to get it in the water!! Josh is AWESOME to work with...he spend a ton of time with me discussing design, measuring and drawing out the blank, and then re-drawing when I wasn't sure about something. Secret R & D of the BKQ2 Resin-X
This is Top Secret R & D photos being smuggled out of the Hynson/Mattison Lab and testing grounds for the prototype Black Knight Quad 2 - Resin-X!! As you can see, Super Test Pilot, Sean Mattison is putting the BKQ2 through it's paces. Though info is scarce and some spies may have been lost in retrieving this info....the initial results look good! Stay tuned....
The Dr. is IN!
So....my 13 year old son was looking over my blog for the first time and liked the whole Dr. Suess concept, but then gave me a funny look on my author name...Dr. Swells. When I thought of the name, I was thinking swells...as in GroundSWELL; not swells, and in your stick (the other one) swells! I decided he might have a point and I don't want to attract the wrong attention. Thusly, you will see my future posts ending with....Dr. Surfs. It's still Suess-ian and much more direct!

BKQ - First Session!
It's no surprise....THIS BOARD ROCKS and honestly, I didn't even get to really push it that hard.
It was 2-3ft waist to chest for about an hour and then it dropped like a rock with the offshores and outgoing tide to 1-2ft. The BKQ is everything you guys said it would be and the answer to everything I've been looking for in a board! I was catching waves sooooo easily, better than my fish that's a solid 3 inches thick! I love the rails, they react like a Ferrari on a test track! And that tail just whips around like it's on auto-pilot; sure glad I put the tailpad on there.
Sean, you and Hynson have designed the perfect fish...heck, the perfect board! You can count me in for the BKQ II already!

6-4 Hynson XTR Black Knight Quad
I'm super stoked!! I picked up my Black Knight from Micka, the BKQ pimp myself, today!! I was a little freaked out at first when I saw a lot of tiny holes in the board, but Micka explained they were there due to the processing of the XTR. Sean expanded on the process when I had the opportunity to talk to him and Hynson later. I didn't get to ride it, but it's going to have a tail pad, fresh coat of wax, and a lot of love until the next swell arrives! Here are a couple of quick photos....there will definitely be more with better quality and detail! Pray for waves...and anything else you can think of!

Florida Fish Fry from the Style Master
From Micka at http://www.stylerevivial.blogspot.com/
...yep, it looks like finally, after a couple of year's trying to get one going in the sunshine state, we're gonna have one! details are still pending, but here's what I can share so far...structure for the event is being handled by one of the main architects for the hugely successful California fish frys, Sean Mattison, in conjuction with master shaper Ricky Carroll, as well as visiting legend Mike Hynson, plus i'm sure many more. Locations from south to north florida have been thrown around, but if all goes as planned, somewhere centrally located will most likely be settled on, Ponce Inlet is in contention as of now. This is set up to be a low key, un-corporate event, much like a regular family outing to the beach, bring your own food / drink, so we avoid city / county red tape. I will be giving info as plans progress, but this really promises to be a jewel of a event...great time of the season, great break, great boards, surfers, shapers...target date is the weekend after Labor Day(sept. 6th or 7th), as this event will lead into the following week to the ASR Surf Expo...Get stoked & stay tuned afishianados..
